The canals of Tortuguero are rich with wildlife and offer a true rainforest experience. As your cruise the waterways of the dense jungle, be on the lookout for crocodiles, caimans, monkeys, sloths, and more. In the town you will visit the Caribbean Conservation Company and learn about the preservation philosophy of Tortuguero. A walk through the small village gives you a taste of the afro-Caribbean culture.

Head to Arenal and relax in natural hot springs.

After a short flight to San Jose, continue to Arenal. Spend the afternoon enjoying unlimited access to the thermal rivers and pools of your resort. Tabacon’s Hot Springs offers dozens of cascading waterfalls and warm pools of varying temperatures, all naturally heated by the volcano and slowly mineralized underground. There is also a cold-water pool for those wanting a refreshing swim.

Observe the rainforest from the treetops.

Observe the rainforest from the treetops with a combination of aerial tram and zipline and visit La Fortuna Waterfall.

Start with Sky Tram, an aerial tram that takes you to a wide observation deck at the highest point of the Arenal Reserve, from where you can observe the rainforest, the Arenal volcano and lake. Continue with Sky Trek, the canopy zipline, an adventure excursion full of adrenaline! Above the treetops is a system of zip lines that allows you to observe the rainforest and its landscape from a different perspective. The tour includes 8 cross-sectional cables that together have a total length of 1.7 miles, with distances from 100 to 2,460 feet, and with a maximum height of 660 feet, which exceed the treetops, providing a panoramic view.

After lunch, continue to La Fortuna Waterfall, with some of the most gorgeous scenery in all of Costa Rica . The 230-foot ribbon of water falls into a great swimming hole, surrounded by lush tropical forest, and protected by the local conservation project. The water below is a greenish blue that makes for a pleasing view.
