Today, you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to San Francisco. Upon arrival in San Francisco, you will collect your hire car and then make your way to your hotel for an overnight stay. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax after your journey.

Make your own way with your rental car to Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal. You’ll drive for approximately four hours to the Yosemite National Park. Upon arrival at your hotel, which is 9 minutes by foot from the park, the afternoon and evening are free to explore the park’s many walking trails while looking out for wildlife such as bobcats, monk deer and bald eagles.

When you stay at Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal, you’ll be on a river, just steps from Sierra National Forest and 9 minutes by foot from Yosemite National Park. This hotel is 4.4 mi (7 km) from Yosemite Valley and 2.5 mi (4 km) from Yosemite Arch Rock Gate Entrance.

There are many viewpoints around Yosemite National Park, such as Glacier Point, some would say, is the most spectacular viewpoint anywhere. Most people agree that its views of the high country and breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley, including Half Dome and three waterfalls, are the most spectacular in the park. Washburn Point, just south of Glacier Point, has similar views, though the views of Vernal and Nevada Fall are better. The road to Glacier Point is usually open late May or early June to sometime in November, though some people prefer to ski there in the winter.
There are a number of activities available, including hiking, climbing and mountain biking. We recommend taking a guided walk to learn more about the park’s geology, wildlife and history.

San FranciscoBy Grant Kingstonfrom United Kingdom (UK)1st June 2022Now that we have recovered from the flight home and had time to look at our photos etc, we just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you for arranging an amazing holiday for us. Obviously this was not the most straightforward of trips, and plenty of potential for things to go wrong! I am pleased to say that thanks to your usual attention to detail everything went like clockwork. The hired car was excellent and gave us a great way to see the many sights we had booked. Golf and the accommodation at Pebble Beach was unbelievable, a real bucket list ticked off! We then went on the lodge you booked at Yosemite and were really happy with the stunning river views we had compared to some other rooms with no view. For our last 7 days, the hotel in San Francisco was in a perfect location at Fisherman’s Wharf for us to get around very easily and visit the many restaurants in the area. The Alcatraz trip, Golden Gate cruise, Nappa Valley wine tasting and Muir Woods trips were also amazing and truly memorable experiences. Thanks again and we look forward to planning our next 2023 adventure with you soon!
