Cape Town Blue Train and Safari

Depart from the UK on your overnight flight to Cape Town, South Africa. Prepare for an exciting journey ahead as you travel to one of the world's most beautiful cities.

Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to the Victoria & Alfred Hotel, located in the heart of the vibrant V&A Waterfront. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps exploring the bustling waterfront with its array of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options.

Enjoy a full day to discover Cape Town's many attractions. Consider taking the cable car up Table Mountain for panoramic views, visiting the historic Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, or exploring the colourful Bo-Kaap neighbourhood. The V&A Waterfront offers excellent dining options for the evening.

Another day to experience Cape Town's charms. Perhaps take a day trip to the Cape Peninsula, including Boulders Beach penguin colony and Cape Point, or explore the nearby Winelands region with its world-class vineyards and stunning scenery.

Your final day in Cape Town to enjoy at your leisure. Perhaps take a wine tour to the nearby Cape Winelands region, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, or simply relax at the V&A Waterfront. This is your last opportunity to explore this beautiful city before continuing your journey.

10:30 - Register and check-in at The Blue Train Lounge at Cape Town Station. Enjoy pre-departure snacks and drinks in the lounge.

11:15 - Boarding commences. Butlers will usher you to your suite and provide an orientation.

12:00 - The Blue Train departs from Cape Town Station. Canapés will be served on board.

16:00 - High Tea is served in the non-smoking Lounge Car.

18:30-20:00 - First sitting for dinner (or 20:15-22:00 for second sitting). Dinner is an elegant affair where men are requested to wear a jacket/waistcoat and ladies elegant evening wear.

After dinner, enjoy post-dinner drinks, cognacs, and Cuban cigars in the Club Car before retiring to your suite, which will have been transformed into a comfortable bedroom by your butler.

06:00-09:00 - Breakfast is served on a first-come-first-served basis.

11:30-13:00 - First sitting for Lunch (or 13:15-14:30 for second sitting).

14:00 - The Blue Train arrives at Kimberley Station. Disembark for an excursion to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the mine and other interesting historical sites.

17:00 - Return to Kimberley Station where you'll be greeted with a glass of sherry. The sherry glass, engraved with The Blue Train logo, is yours to keep as a memento.

18:30 - The Blue Train departs Kimberley Station. Refresh yourself and enjoy aperitifs in any of the lounges.

18:30-20:00 - First sitting for dinner (or 20:15-22:00 for second sitting).

After dinner, enjoy post-dinner drinks, cognacs, and Cuban cigars in the Club Car before retiring to bed.

06:00-09:00 - Breakfast is served on a first-come-first-served basis.

13:00 - Lunch (lunch sitting times to be advised).

18:00 - The Blue Train arrives at Pretoria Station. Your butler will escort you from the train.

Transfer to Court Classique Suite Hotel in Pretoria for your overnight stay. Enjoy the hotel's amenities and prepare for your safari adventure.

After breakfast at Court Classique, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival, transfer to Motswari Private Game Reserve in the Timbavati area, bordering Kruger National Park. Settle in and, time permitting, embark on your first afternoon game drive to search for Africa's iconic wildlife.

Begin your day with an early morning wake-up call around 4:30 AM. After coffee and light snacks, depart for your morning game drive from 5:30-8:30 AM. Return to the lodge for breakfast and perhaps join an optional bush walk. Enjoy leisure time at the lodge before high tea, followed by your afternoon game drive from 4:00-7:30 PM. End the day with dinner under the African stars.

Another full day of safari activities following the same schedule as Day 10. Morning and afternoon game drives offer opportunities to spot the "Big 5" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) as well as numerous other species. Between drives, relax at the lodge and enjoy delicious meals while soaking in the African bush atmosphere.

Enjoy your final morning game drive at Motswari. After breakfast, spend your remaining time at the lodge before transferring to Hoedspruit airport for your flight to Johannesburg, connecting with your international flight back to the UK, taking with you memories of an unforgettable South African adventure.
